Imaginative Landscape

An imaginative landscape is the meaning we give to a physical landscape. It is through our perspective we see a landscape. Our perspective is influences by our thoughts and feelings.

Many personal factors influence our view of a landscape

  • Culture
  • Tradition
  • Values
  • Morals
  • Beliefs
  • Religion
  • Emotions
  • Attitude
  • Experiences
  • Choices
  • Career
  • Lifestyles
'For me a landscape does not exist in its own right, since its appearances changes at every moment; but the surrounding atmosphere brings it to life - the light and the air which vary continually. For me, it is only the surrounding atmosphere which gives subjects their true value." - Claude Monet (French painter, initiator and the leader of the impressionist style)
