Mean Girls (2004)
American Teen Comedy - Directed by Mark Waters

Mean Girls is a movie based on a non-fiction book 'Queen Bees and Wannabes' by Rosalind Wiseman. The movie is about how female high school social cliques work and what affects they can have on girls. It centers on Cady Heron, a 16 year old home schooled daughter of zoologist parents. They have returned to the United States after a 12-year research trip in Africa. In the beginning of the movie, Cady is a very nice and polite girl. Living in Africa, meant that Cady had never had an experience of an average American high school. However, once she is placed in this new environment, she completely changes. She changes her appearance and attitude in order to survive in this landscape. She continues to mold herself into a 'plastic'. This movie is a great example of how a landscape can change the lives of people who live there.
